If you don’t know me, my name is Amanda. I’m 22 and I just recently finished college. In less than a week, I start teaching my Sophomore World History Class. I was born and raised in Texas (and if you know me well enough, you know where).
Well, a couple of years ago I started gaming thanks to my younger brother, Cory; and recently, everything has begun to take off. I began my gaming career trying to make youtube videos and “make that YOUTUBE MONAYYY!” however, I gave up quickly because, I didn’t have anything to record with. So, I played Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), Black Ops (BO) and then, Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). If you have ever played MW3, you already know how terrible of a game it is; 3 months in, I almost snapped my disc in half and quit gaming all together. I didn’t though, I just went back to Call of Duty 4 (COD4) and MW2. It was a nice break, and then I was introduced to the competitive scene. It was something I’d never experienced and it finally gave me a chance to like gaming again. In the past 5 months, I went from not knowing a thing about competitive to completely loving to play the game.
Currently, I am not on a team myself, but I do coach, write and manage for the organization, 4Not. If you haven’t heard of us check us out at:
Well, I have officially been promoted to Head Manager over all the teams and departments, in the mass change we’ve had to better the organization. It has been a wonderful experience and the guys at 4Not have been the best.
Why A Blog
I recently started dating Aaron Smith (@SimplyImplicit), who if you don’t know you should go check out is twitter because, he plays a pretty big role in the gaming community; well, he currently runs a blog himself talking about many different games and platforms across the gaming community. Well, I stole the idea of a blog with it, and put a spin on it. I’ve sat down and had the chance to talk to many different players across the COD community and I plan on sitting down with others from other games as well, to talk and interview them in a way to allow those who don’t know them to take a chance to get to know them.
I am hoping that this blog takes off and everyone likes the idea of what I am doing and actually enjoys the writing and interviews that are going to take place. I’d love to interview everyone, but not everyone is willing to sit down with me. If you’d like to see an interview with someone, leave their name in the comments and I will try and find a way to get a hold of them. I have many great players and leaders of teams that those in the COD community have grown to know and love.
So, bare with me please, and be patient; while we all get ready for some great writing and interviews of some of our favorite players around the communities.
